Charles Dean Horne's Obituary
Charles (Charlie) Dean Horne, 82 of Tulsa, went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2021, at St. John Hospital with his wife by his side. He was born August 14, 1939, in Poteau, Oklahoma to Ellis (Dutch) and Thelma Horne. During his lifetime Charlie was a member of several different Baptist Churches and loved the Lord. One of the main things Charlie loved was the “old” hymns he had heard from the time he was a child. Charlie’s dream was to fly airplanes and he joined the Airforce immediately after graduating from high school with the plan to make that his career. He passed the initial physical and was accepted, but shortly after it was discovered that he had an 80% loss of hearing in his right ear and so was Honorably Discharged. Most of Charlie’s career was as a Manager in the Oilfield manufacturing of electrical submersible pumps, and retired from Oil Dynamics after 30 years with that company in 1998, and for 20 years would continue to enjoy the camaraderie of the people he worked with at annual breakfasts. Up until the time he became ill Charlie was active and enjoyed hobbies such as bowling and flying remote-controlled airplanes and was an active member of the Gludobbers Club. Charlie was preceeded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Muriel Gene Walker and Billy Jo Horne; and his son Bruce Horne. Charlie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carolyn of the home; brother James Ellis Horne of Oklahoma City; sons Paul R.Horne of Mena, Arkansas and Rick J Horne of Wagoner, Oklahoma; 5 grandsons and 3 granddaughters; 7 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Everyone is welcome
