Charles "Don" Lee's Obituary
Charles “Don” Lee, age 84, passed away at his residence in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on July 30, 2024. Born on February 13, 1940, in Mulberry, Arkansas, to Charles Harlan Lee and Mattie Frank Lee, Don’s life was marked by his incredible charm, generosity, and zest for life.
Don spent most of his vibrant life in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A man of many talents, he started his career as a hairdresser before transitioning to a successful career in auto sales, where his extroverted and chatty nature served him well. He was known for his love of movies, especially old westerns featuring John Wayne, and his passion for NFL football. Don’s iconic look of blue jeans, cowboy boots, and long-sleeved western shirts was a reflection of his love for the western lifestyle.
Don was a man who never met a stranger. His ability to strike up a conversation with anyone and make them feel welcome was a special trait that few people possess. Generous to a fault, he was always giving things away to friends and family. He deeply cherished his four children: daughter Teri, son Victor, and daughters Tammy and Lisa, who he loved dearly.
Don was previously married to Virginia Clinton and Carrol Lee.
He was predeceased by his parents, Harlan and Mattie Lee, his daughter Teri Lynn Lee, his son Charles Victor Lee, his nephew Terry Don Lee and Carrol Lee.
He is survived by his daughters Tammy Gann and Lisa Schumacher (husband Matt); his brother Terry Lee; grandchildren Joe Garcia, Jennifer Magnum, Justin Gann, Dustin Gann, Emily Lee, Tyler Lee, Blake Schumacher, Katie Schumacher, and Lindsay Schumacher. Don’s legacy also includes his great-grandchildren Derek Mangum, Conner Mangum, Gracie Gann, and his great-great-grandchild Hadley Mangum. Also survived by niece Michelle, Cliff and Kaitlyn Goins, other family members, treasured friends, and of course his beloved and loyal companion, his Pomeranian, Maggie.
Don’s infectious spirit, kindness, and generosity have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
