Chuck Lucia's Obituary
Charles David Lucia also known as Chuck, Nuck, and Pops, age 66, of Buffalo, NY, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed from this life and went to heaven on Saturday December 31st, 2022 in Tulsa with his loving family by his side.
Chuck was born June 30th, 1956 to Charles and Virginia (Ropp) Lucia at Kindley Air Force base in Bermuda.
Chuck grew up on several military bases around the world where he met life long friends and according to him and several eye witness accounts, he and his brothers “gave my parents one heck of a time”.
Chuck and wife Kathy got married July 23rd 1983, on a boat in the middle of the San Francisco Bay. Aside from being a devoted husband of 40 years to the love of his life, he was a father to two self proclaimed amazing kids.
On January 3rd, 1993, Chuck gave his life to Christ and became a devout Christian. He loved volunteering for the church especially within the children’s ministry because that “keeps me young and hip to the world”. Chuck also enjoyed going to the gym and golfing. Well, he called it “golf” but I think he would agree that it was closer to a walk in the woods just looking for golf balls.
Although a less than average life span, Chuck lived life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity for a Dad joke, a conversation about Jesus and a good laugh. To say that Chuck was a people person would be an understatement. Chuck was the person who knew the mailman’s life story and could make friends anywhere, it truly was a talent of his.
Chuck had a very eclectic career in the Food and Beverage industry, working at hotels, nursing homes, hospitals, and colleges. Being the people person and servant that he was, it was only fitting that he was in hospitality.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Kathy, son Brad Lucia and wife Kristen, daughter Robyn Lawson and husband Paul; seven grandchildren: Kyler, Nora, Jude, Avery Lawson and Finley, Braxton, Decker Lucia; his mother, Ginny Lucia, and brothers: John Lucia, Steve Lucia and wife Hannah, Bob Lucia and wife Kathy; and a host of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father Chuck Lucia.
