Charles McDaniel's Obituary
Charles Richard McDaniel was born on March 27, 1923 and passed September 18, 2018.He was married to his wife Catherine for 60 years until her death in 2004. Together they had two sons, Richard Lee McDaniel and Johnny Wade McDaniel, seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific theater during World War II and received an Honorable Discharge at the end of the war. He worked as an aircraft mechanic for American Airlines for 35 years before retiring.He loved to hunt and was very passionate about fishing. He and Catherine traveled a lot after retirement and enjoyed R.V.ing with family and friends. For the last few years, he spent a lot of time in his garage making hot dog and marshmallow roasting forks and then selling them in Claremore and Pryor. He became known as the “Fork Man”. The Pryor newspaper even wrote an article about him.Even at 95 years, he stayed busy and enjoyed meeting people while selling his forks. While returning home from Pryor on September 15, he was in an auto accident and tragically lost his life. He is now with the love of his life, his wife Catherine, once again.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 4 pm – 7 pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Services will be at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, September 26, at the Floral Haven Chapel.
