Charles Cleo Phillips' Obituary
Charles Cleo Phillips, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, entered eternal life in Claremore, Oklahoma, on December 18th, 2024, at the age of 91. Charles was born on June 6th, 1933, in Haskell County, Oklahoma, to Cleo Charleston Phillips and Ruby E. "Tiny" (Phillips) Phillips.
Charles was a devoted husband to his two wives, whom he loved dearly. He shared many wonderful years with Donna Lee (Johnson) Phillips and later with Barbara Ann Phillips. Both preceded him in death, but the love they shared continues to live on through the legacy of their family.
Charles had a long and fulfilling career in roofing, working with dedication at Motts Roofing where he retired. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and craftmanship, leaving a lasting impact in his field and among those he worked alongside. Outside of work, he found joy in fishing and playing the guitar, hobbies that brought him peace and happiness throughout his life. He always had a guitar pick on him.
Charles was a man of deep faith and strong religious beliefs. His belief in God guided him throughout his life, and he dedicated himself to serving others as a minister. His sermons and teachings inspired many, and his unwavering commitment to his faith was a cornerstone of his character.
Charles's life was enriched by his children: Kenneth Phillips and his wife Mary Kay of Chelsea, OK; Sharon Hoffman of Catoosa, OK; Scott Phillips and wife Becky of Claremore, OK; and Allen Phillips and his wife Barbara of Catoosa, OK. He is preceded in death by his wives: Donna Lee (Johnson) Phillips and Barbara Ann Phillips; and his son, Leon Phillips. Altogether, Charles had 14 siblings, 6 of whom survive him, while 7 preceded him in death. His family also included 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Charles will be remembered for his love, kindness, and steadfast devotion to his family and faith. His legacy will live on through the memories of those who knew him and the lessons he imparted. Services to celebrate his life will be held at Floral Haven Cemetery on December 23rd, 2024, at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM.
