Charles Shue's Obituary
Charles Brandon Shue, aged 80, departed from this life on May 24, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Born on June 13, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he carved a legacy of service and dedication. Charles proudly served his country as an Air Force Veteran, enlisting in 1962 and serving for four honorable years. In 1967, he began his tenure at American Airlines where his diligent service spanned until his retirement in 2003 as Crew Chief. Throughout his career, Charles formed enduring bonds with colleagues, leaving a lasting impression with his kindness and unwavering support.
In June of 1967, he married the love of his life, Rochelle, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond and created a lasting legacy. Charles was a devoted husband, never forgetting anniversaries or special days, embodying the essence of love and commitment.
He possessed a remarkable ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger. Charles was a pillar of strength and generosity within his family, always ready to lend a helping hand. He cherished his loved ones dearly and took immense pride in their achievements. Beyond his professional and familial commitments, Charles found solace in nature through fishing and camping adventures.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents Charles Elmer and Tavia Luella Shue; sister Helen DeCorte; brother in laws Bob DeCorte and Carroll Meek.
He is survived by his wife Rochelle Shue; children Darenda Ashby and her husband Waylon, Twyla Poplin and her husband Brian, and Brandon Charles Shue and his partner Tracy Tiger; sisters Margie Meek and Elma James; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends who will forever cherish the memories they share.
His memory will forever be treasured by those fortunate enough to have known him. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 1PM-4PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor James Lacey presiding. Following the service, Charles will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
