Butch was a great man, one who taught me to be able to play trumpet, and truly love music. I'll always remember his advice about all those difficult looking notes on the music pages (especially the pink Arban's book!) - "it's just ink on a page." He was also a great partner on the stage in his role as "Scrooge" when I had a chance to play the part of "Christmas Present."
As I entered the stage for the Christmas play, my opening line to him was, "I believe you've been expecting me..." It was a running joke for a couple months to say this in the hallways at church anytime I saw him. Now, I wonder if perhaps he was met at the Pearly Gates by his Father with the same line.
To Butch, thank you for everything, you will be missed.

Bro. Butch played Scrooge in several of our dramas. During one of the drama practices our grandson “Benjamin” was watching the presentation. Bro. Butch made an impact on Benjamin. After the presentations Benjamin came to me and said. “That guy was bad but with Jesus is his heart he is now good”. From then on Benjamin always remembered Bro Butch as the man with Jesus in his heart. 🥰
Butch was one of my favorite people to talk to, to laugh with and just praise the Lord with. I enjoyed his friendship through the years, and even though we had not been in touch for the last several years, I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to know him and be his friend. Butch, you and Elaine have always had a ready smile, and a genuine love for the Lord, and a desire to be the best testimony to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ. Rest in peace....until we meet again.

Charles was a man that I totally admired. He gave me a job when I thought my age would keep me from getting one. He also encouraged me to go for other jobs in our business. Always caring about others even when he was so ill he called me about my health. I can not even express the amount of appreciation and love I have for this wonderful man. To his wife Elaine and his family you were blessed to have him in your lives to guide you in everything you do.
