Charlotte Kay Lowers' Obituary
Charlotte Lowers was born on October 12, 1952 in Tulsa, OK. She moved on to her next adventure on January 15, 2025. Cancer alone was not enough to bring her down. She went toe to toe with lung cancer, pneumonia, and heart disease. Despite her small stature she never retreated. She fought for every minute to spend as much time with her loved ones as possible. She was a mother to her core and found purpose in caring for others. She nurtured everything and everyone in her path from tomato plants to people to turtles in her backyard. She even mothered her own healthcare team and showered the hospital staff with jokes and gratitude to the very end.
She turned strangers into forever friends by giving her whole heart to neighbors, family, cashiers, doctors, nurses, passengers on planes and fellow customers in line. Her authenticity led to lifelong connections and impacted countless people. In return her friends and family strived each day to show her the same unconditional love and self-sacrifice. She lived her life, loved and never alone.
She is a testament to the kindness and fighting spirit of her own parents and brother that preceded her in death, parents Lyda Jane Kuykendall, and Roscoe Kuykendall, brother Leroy Kuykendall. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Roy Lowers. Their marriage outlasted Richard Nixon, rotary phones, Elvis, and 8-track cassettes. Charlotte’s grit, dark humor and capacity for empathy lives on in her daughters Jaynie Ozment and Jennifer Lowers as well as their spouses Scott and Johnny; and her Granddaughters, Railey and Leighton Warren. She is survived by many nieces she loved to pieces.
Please help fill the void she left behind with stories of the life she lived and hearts she touched. Her family would love to hear kind gestures, inappropriate jokes, colorful stories, heartfelt advice, pranks, or shared adventures that left a lasting impression on your heart. Her spark will never dim in the memories of those that knew her.
Services will be held at Floral Haven Chapel on Monday, January 20th at 12:30PM. Please come dressed in bright colors to honor her with a service as colorful and joyful as her spirit.
