Cherry T. Johns' Obituary
Cherry T Johns of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday October 31. Cherry graduated from high School in Altus Oklahoma where she lived as the daughter of Eugene and LV Walker. In Altus she began her career with AT&T as a clerk in the basement of their building. By the time she retired she was an executive and was one of the first women to break the glass ceiling at AT&T. Cherry was married to Rev. Robert E Johns of the United Methodist Church. Her love for God and the children of God empowered her to partner with Bob in many areas of ministry. Her faith touched everyone around her starting with her family. But it didn’t stop there, she encouraged the people she met in the cancer center, she invited everyone to church, and she would quietly help people in need wherever she met them. Cherry was a true angel who brought the message of love to all she met. Her absence will leave a hole the no one could ever fill. Thank you Cherry for sharing your life with us. She is survived by her Husband, Rev. Robert Johns and her children: Gena Hamilton and husband Tim, Melissa McDaniels and husband Jason, Stephanie Kingfisher, and Rex Nichols, her brother Bruce Rotan and wife Donna, and her niece Kellie King. Her grandchildren are: TJ, Savannah, Ramsey, Elizabeth, John, Bryson, and Chase. Family Visitation will be Wednesday November 4th from 6-8 PM at Floral Haven. The funeral service will be held at Will Rogers United Methodist Church at 1138 S. Yale, Tulsa, OK. on Thursday November 5th at 2:00 PM with family visitation at 1. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Will Rogers’ food pantry.
