Chester Ray Kerns' Obituary
Chester Ray Kerns, 86, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on February 26, 2026, in Tulsa.
Chester was born on June 29, 1939, in Rotan, TX to Charlie and Mabel Kerns. Raised with strong values and a deep appreciation for hard work and simple pleasures.
A true cowboy at heart, Chester loved watching bull riding and the freedom of the rodeo life. He found joy in the camaraderie of pool halls, where he spent many hours playing in pool tournaments and sharing stories with friends. He also enjoyed playing dominoes, always ready for a good game and good company. Chester lived the cowboy lifestyle fully and proudly — steady, honest, and true to himself.
He was known for his signature style: a crisp button-up shirt worn over a white T-shirt, a look that never changed because he never changed. Chester was a man of consistency and character. He never had any enemies, a testament to his easygoing nature and the respect he showed everyone he met. He treated people fairly, spoke plainly, and lived with quiet strength.
Chester’s life was defined not by grand gestures, but by loyalty, authenticity, and the simple joys he cherished.
Chester is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Kerns, parents, and many brothers and sisters.
Chester is survived by his daughter Cindy Marshall, daughter Terri Kerns, brothers Freddie, Robert, Jimmy, sisters Bobbie, Dororthy, grandchildren Cassidy Hamilton, Jasmine Kerns, great-grandchildren DJ Collins, De'Arihanna Hamilton, Sage Crabtree, Solana Kerns-Funtes, along with numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and loved ones.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 4th, 2026 at 12:30 PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home
