Chloteal Bonner Cooper's Obituary
August 22, 2025, Chloteal (Teal) Bonner Cooper passed away at the age of 80 years. Named after her maternal grandmother, she was born in Dallas, Texas on June 13, 1945. She attended Tulsa Public Schools, Southern Methodist University, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She taught in Glendale, California for one year, but returned to Tulsa where she taught at Carver Elementary.
Chloteal met Robert Cooper on February 13, 1970, at a Valentine’s dance, and they married three months later. In their fifty-five-year marriage they raised two boys while living in Tulsa and Norman, as well as in Baytown, Kingwood, and The Woodlands all in Texas.
She was a loving and caring wife, and a thoughtful and considerate mom. But possibly the most important of all were those that had the privilege to call her Teal. Teal never backed down from a fight, but she met her match in her final few years. Though she fought a good fight and “raged against the dying of the light,” she was unable to defeat Alzheimer's.
Teal is preceded in death by her parents, Colleen and Charles Bonner. Surviving her are her two sons and their families: Carissa and Bradley Cooper and their children, Kennedy, Millie, and Hank of Tulsa; Sandy and Travis Cooper and their children Emma, TJ, Logan, and great-grandson Leo of Edmond. As well as her brother Bill Bonner and his wife Susan of Tulsa, and her sister Charlotte Jacobsen, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She will be missed by all and will forever be in our hearts.
Services will be held at Floral Haven Funeral Home on August 28th, 2025, at 3:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
