Barnes, Christie Annette's Obituary
Christie Annette Barnes, 62, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on November 20, 2025. Born on September 3, 1963, in Tulsa, she was the beloved daughter of Richard Ward Poole and Mary Elaine Henderson (née Wood).
Christie dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching, shaping young minds in Special Education with compassion and commitment. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. A lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and an excellent cook, Christie brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.
She was married to the love of her life, Mark Barnes, for 23 wonderful years until his passing in October 2021. Christie was also preceded in death by her parents, Richard Ward Poole and Mary Elaine Henderson, and her sister, Jennifer Anne Stovall.
She is survived by her loving son, Ryan Christian Barnes, and his fiancée Emily Salathe; her stepsons, Kevin Barnes and Alex McCormick; her cherished granddaughter, Addisyn Barnes; her brother, Alan Poole; her aunts, Annette Robbins and Sandee Davis; her niece, Alex Poole; and her nephews, Nick Stovall, Nathan Poole, Bradley Poole, Michael Poole, and Samuel Poole, along with countless cousins and life long friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Christie’s life will be held on December 5 at 3:00 p.m. at Floral Haven, 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK, 74012, officiated by Daniel Jordan. Honorary pallbearers include Ryan Barnes, Nathan Poole, Bradley Poole, Michael Poole, Alan Poole, and Nick Stovall. A reception will follow immediately after the service at Floral Haven.
Christie’s kindness, dedication, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
