Christopher Kelso's Obituary
Christopher Richard Kelso was born on October 29, 1975 in Lansing, MI. He graduated from Jenks High School in 1994 and went on to study at Tulsa Community College and Western Michigan University. He spent his entire professional career at Manhattan Construction in Tulsa, OK, where he worked as a computer programmer for 17 years. His beloved daughter Madelyn was born on October 28, 2002 just one day before his 28th birthday; the best gift he ever received. Chris found deep joy in fatherhood, and passed his love of reading, music and video games on to his little girl. Telling her stories was a favorite way to spend time together, as was cooking. Maddy will continue his tradition of making French onion soup and clam chowder for her family.Chris passed away on May 30, 2017 from undiagnosed pancreatic cancer. He spent less than two days in the hospital, continuing to live his life to the fullest and on his own terms. He spent his last, peaceful, moments surrounded by his family and the caring staff of St. John’s Hospital. He will always be loved and missed by daughter Madelyn, his mother Carlene Rivers, brother Eric Kelso, niece Abbey Herrington-Kelso, sister-in-law Kelly Herrington, stepfather Don Rivers, girlfriend Teffany Morrow, the Block and Kelso families, and his friends. In lieu of flowers, Madelyn asks that donations be made to the Lustgarden Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research in her father’s name. https://www.lustgarten.org/donateA memorial service will be held in Chris’ honor at 3 pm on Friday, June 2, 2017. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
