It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher William Stevens, a beloved resident of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, who departed from this world on October 18, 2023. He was 51 years old.
Chris was born on September 29, 1972, in the serene town of Hermiston, Oregon. He was the son of loving parents and brought an abundance of joy into their lives. His radiant spirit and remarkable journey touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him.
Chris's path through life was one of honor and dedication. After graduating from Preston High School in 1990, he felt a calling to serve his country. Chris joined the U.S. Navy and bravely stood by its side during the tumultuous period of Desert Storm. His unwavering commitment and sacrifice in the service of his nation were truly commendable.
On January 3, 1998, he embarked on another beautiful journey, one that would forever change his life and fill it with love and companionship. Chris married the love of his life, Melissa Pixler. Their union was a testament to the enduring power of love and commitment, lasting a remarkable 26 years. Their love story was blessed with the birth of their cherished son, Colton, who became the center of their world.
Chris was a man of the great outdoors, and he found solace and happiness in the simplicity of nature. He had a deep love for hunting, fishing, and camping. These were moments where he felt most at peace, surrounded by the wonders of the natural world. But above all, the most important thing in his life was his family. He cherished the moments spent with Melissa and Colton, for it was in their company that he found his truest joy.
Christopher William Stevens was not just a loving husband, a devoted father, and a valiant veteran, but he was a friend, a confidant, and a warm presence that radiated kindness and love. His memory will forever remain etched in our hearts as we recall the laughter, the love, and the moments we shared with him.
In his passing, we remember not just the loss we feel but the life he lived and the love he gave. Chris will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Chis was preceded in passing by his father, Bruce Stevens, and his grandmother, Margaret Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Stevens; his son, Colton Stevens; son, Matthew Stevens; his mother, Kathy Stevens; his brother, Mike Stevens; brother, Jeff Stevens and his wife, Dayle; brother, Phillip Stevens; sister, Ashley Stuart; brother, William Stevens; brother-in-law, Sam Bell and his wife, Stephanie; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Sandy Greenup; nieces, Lydia, Allie and Summer Stevens; nephew, Spencer Stevens; and numerous other family members and friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, October 29, 2023, at First Christian Church of Broken Arrow in the Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for Chris's son, Colton
