Christy Lynn Young's Obituary
Christy Lynn Young, a resident of Broken Arrow, passed away August 10, 2017 at the age of 34. She was born May 24, 1983 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Lance Christopher Young and Debra Ann (Pritchett) Young.Christy moved to Broken Arrow with her family at the age of 3. She attended school there, and liked to spend time with her sister, riding their bikes to Haskell Park and swimming as often as they could.Hobbies that Christy enjoyed included drawing, reading, and making necklaces and bracelets. She was a fan of the TV shows “Reba” and “Full House”. Her favorite music styles were Gospel and Country. She especially like Garth Brooks’ song, “The River.”Christy spent a lot of time being with her Grandma Young. They liked to go shopping and to the casino.When her nephew, Justin, was a baby, Christy was the only person who could get him to sleep. She would sing to him, and it calmed him down — even when he was crying, and no one else could get him to stop!Christy took pleasure in being an aunt to Emily and Justin. She liked to spend time with them and color with them.As a child growing up, Christy was sweet, very loving, and very easy going. She had a soft voice and a beautiful smile. Christy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Christy was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Burl and Mary Helen (Whitmire) Pritchett, and Jack Dewayne and Imogene Marion (Brown) Young.She is survived by her parents Lance and Debbie; brother Justin and wife Ilene Townes of Menifee, California; sister Melissa Mason of Broken Arrow; nieces Trystan and Caytlin of Menifee, California, and Emily of Broken Arrow; nephews Timothy of Menifee, California, and Justin of Broken Arrow; and many extended family members and friends.Memorial Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow.
