Cindy G. Davis' Obituary
Cindy Grimes Davis, age 51, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 of cardiac arrest resulting from a blood clot. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Kevin Davis, the love of her life for 26 years of marriage, and her loving mother LouAnn Grimes. She left behind her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Tyler Kjellsen, and her son Grant Davis, of Broken Arrow. Cindy also left behind her father Johnny Grimes and two brothers Jeff Grimes (Lori) and Craig Grimes (Peggy), nieces and nephew Kaitlyn Bueno, Andrew Grimes, and Chesney Grimes, and great niece Jaecy Grimes. Along with many other relatives, in laws, cousins, and a multitude of friends. She loved each of them dearly and they brought so much joy to her life. Family and friends were always first to Cindy.Cindy was born in Derby, Kansas on September 14th, 1966 and moved to Broken Arrow in 1967. She graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1984, and continued on to receive her Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University.Cindy was married to Kevin Davis on July 21st, 1990 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. They continued their lives in Broken Arrow with their two children. Cindy was a beloved and dedicated second and third grade teacher at Leisure Park Elementary in the Broken Arrow School District for 29 years. Many students gained a love for reading because of Mrs. Davis. She was a life-long Tiger as she attended Broken Arrow Public Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.Cindy was a loving mother, wife, and daughter, a beloved family member, a treasured friend, and an adored teacher and mentor. She enjoyed spending her time with family and friends. Everyone was drawn to her contagious laughter and positive outlook on life. She will be greatly missed by so many and we are all better people for having known her.Cindy’s services will be held on Saturday, January 13th at 11 o’clock at First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow. In memory of her husband, Kevin Davis, donations may be made towards Seasons Hospice.
