Claire Jean Sanwick's Obituary
Claire Sanwick, 73 of Tahlequah, Oklahoma peacefully departed this world on March 3, 2024. Born on February 20, 1951, in Dallas, Texas, to Paul Bainbridge Sanwick Sr. and Edna Jean McClain Sanwick, Claire's life was marked by unwavering strength, resilience, and boundless love.
Claire dedicated her career to serving as a legal assistant, where her professionalism, dedication, and kindness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Despite her battle with multiple sclerosis since 1976, Claire's courageous spirit and remarkable attitude towards life inspired and touched the hearts of countless individuals. She faced every challenge with grace, never once yielding to self-pity or complaint.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Claire found joy in the simple pleasures of life. From the exhilaration of snow skiing in her youth to the tranquility of needlepoint as an adult, Claire embraced each moment with passion and gratitude.
Claire is survived by her brothers, James Sanwick and wife Gay of Hulbert, Oklahoma, and Scott Sanwick and wife Gwen of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by her niece, Amanda Camacho, and Michael Stowers of Frisco, Texas, and her nephew, Travis Sanwick, and wife Liz of Bixby, Oklahoma. Additionally, she leaves behind two great-nieces, Mia and Maci Camacho, and her brother-in-law, Brad McCartt, and partner Mark Dubas of Santa Monica, California.
Claire was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Justin Sanwick.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gentiva Hospice at 1310 S. York St. Muskogee, OK 74403, an organization that provided compassionate care and support to Claire during her final days.
