Clancy Jade Robinson's Obituary
Clancy Jade Robinson was born in Shenzhen, China on January 4, 2010. She moved with her family to the U.S. a few months before her second birthday. When she was about 9 or 10, she realized her dad was a big Tom Clancy fan so she Googled him. After that she started calling herself Rose and made her friends and peers call her Rose. She told her mom she didn't want to have some dead guy's name, so she named herself Rose. She liked Roses so she named herself Rose. It was fitting because she was beautiful like a Rose, soft to the touch like the petals on a Rose but still with a few thorns when she wanted to expose them.
She was a happy, funny baby and did everything early. She walked early, talked early, was potty trained early. At about 14-16 months Jumping Bean, Carters and others thought she was so cute they hired her to model her clothes for all their marketing in that age group. The whole family had fun at the photoshoot. When her brother pepper came along, she was his protector. She was always watching after him, helping him & playing with him until he started gaining his own independence. Even then she kept a close eye on him to make sure he didn't get hurt or that no one hurt him.
Clancy loved cats, shoes, art - especially pencil drawing & clay, clothes and perfume. At about age 5 she wanted to play soccer. After her first soccer game her grandmother (Nanny), asked her what she liked best about soccer and she replied, "the shoes." Her first pair was turquoise and second pair pink cleats. On shopping trips with her mom, it didn't matter what particular things they were shopping for she almost always came home with a new pair of shoes too. She also loved thunder and snowstorms. They were her favorite kinds of weather.
She loved Halloween and always had several different costumes picked out before the first of October until she usually refined it down to one by Halloween.
After moving to the U.S., the family lived in Coweta on a small country acreage for a short time. It was really a fun time for all of them. They had a big garden and she loved going out early in the morning to tend the garden or pick the produce with her dad. They also had chickens and she and Pepper liked to chase the chickens around the yard. They had plenty of room for a swing set, playhouse, room to roam and leaves to play in. They moved back to Broken Arrow after she started school so she could be closer to friends to play with. As she got older, she liked to experiment with different hairstyles, color, makeup and clothing sometimes much to her family's chagrin. Black was her favorite color and you rarely saw her wearing anything but black.
These past few years she has struggled with severe anxiety and depression. The family took her to many doctors, hospitals, treatment centers and therapists.
She finally found her niche and the help she needed at Positive Changes in Tulsa. The staff and students there loved her, and her family was overjoyed at seeing her happy again these past few months. Her passing has left a permanent, gaping hole in our hearts. Rest in peace sweet Rose.
