Clara A. "Charlie" Lock's Obituary
Clara A. “Charlie” Lock, 79, of Tulsa, died on Monday, October 6, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. She was born in Seattle, Washington, on May 4, 1935, the daughter of Nick and Daisy Kutas. She grew up in Washtucna, Washington, then attended Central Washington University, graduating with a degree in physical education, with a minor in art and home economics. Charlie was a teacher who loved her profession and the children she taught. She spent fourteen years as an educator in Guam, U.S.A. Through the years she had also been an independent business woman, semi-professional dancer, scuba diver and avid swimmer. Charlie loved to have a good time. She enjoyed traveling and adventure. She was a kind woman, who never met a stranger and truly had a servant’s heart. Of all of her accomplishments, being a mother was her greatest blessing. She was a loving mother, who gave her children a beautiful example of true love and grace. She believed that all children are valuable and worthy of our love and attention. She loved deeply, lived purely, and hoped endlessly. She is survived by her daughters, Brigitte Soliday, and Belinda Horak-Cobb, son in law, Jim, grandchildren; Claire Horak, and Christopher Horak, and his wife, Nicole, and great grandson; Topher Horak, and sister, Cindy Swank. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank L. Lock, and son, Kelly Kutas.
