Clarence Jack Bartley's Obituary
C. J. (Jack) Bartley, 93, of Tulsa, Ok. Entered into his heavenly home May 23,2015. He was born January 1, 1922 to Ray and Emma Bartley in Tulsa. On April 5, 1942 he married Anvele Potter and they were married 64 years until her passing April 5, 2006. To this marriage three sons were born, Larry, Rick and Mike. In November, 2007 he married Myrna Wing and together they enjoyed church, family, TU sporting events and travel. Jack joined the Navy in 1942, training with the Seabees 67th Battalion at Camp Peary Virginia, Endicott R.I., Hueneme in Calif, then to Pearl Harbor, following which he was involved in design and construction at Tinian Island in the Pacific as part of the 6th Naval Construction Brigade, and then to the Marshall’s. At Tinian Jack was enlisted to design a heavy duty lift which was ultimately used to lift “Little Boy” onto the Enola Gay. Jack’s professional career began at Hanlon Waters and continued through U.S. Corp of Engineers; Jones & Loughlin Supply; John Deere Chemical; R. L. Frailey, Inc., from which he retired in 1987. Jack designed and constructed oil refineries, fertilizer, gas processing and water treatment plants throughout the U.S. For many years, he enjoyed traveling in his motor homes in the U.S. and Canada, wintering in Mission Texas until 2005, and trips to Asia, Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and especially a river cruise on the Danube in 2012 at 90 years old. Service to the church has always been a priority, first as a member for many years at Central Assembly of God, then Woodlake Assembly, and in the past several years as a member of St. James Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Louise Bartley and Geraldine (Bartley) Reynolds, his wife Anvele, and grandson Jason Bartley. He is survived by his wife Myrna Bartley, sister Emma Jean Wagner and sons Larry Bartley (Katie) of Tulsa, Rick Bartley (Sevene) of Overland Park, Kansas, Mike Bartley (Debbie) of Muskogee, Martin Wing of Tulsa, Melissa Bruns (Michael) of Tulsa, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please direct contributions to the charity of choice. A memorial ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 PM Friday, May 29th at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, 6500 S. 129th E. Ave, Broken Arrow, OK.
