Clarence L. Emmert's Obituary
Clarence L. Emmert died peacefully on August 31st in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 94.Clarence is survived by his wife of 72 years, Dorotha, his three surviving children Judith Anne Fowler of Catoosa, Marsha Jane Hensley of Claremore and Timothy Scott Emmert of Tulsa. He is preceded in death by his son, Darryl L Emmert and all his siblings.Clarence was born on December 2nd, 1921 in Walnut Grove, Missouri to Lon and Julia Emmert. He graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1938. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines before his 18th birthday and served two tours of duty in the South Pacific during World War II. In between one of those tours he met and married Dorotha Littlefield.After the war, he and his wife, Dorotha, and their first born Judith Anne, moved from California to Oklahoma and settled in Claremore. Clarence began his 33 year long career at American Airlines as an aircraft mechanic. Three more kids and two more moves, Clarence and Dorotha spent their last 60 years in what was then south Tulsa. Retiring in 1982 at the age of 58, he pursed golf and took great pride in maintaining his house and lawn.The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Villages at Southern Hills and Grace Hospice for their care and compassion.Viewing will be held Sunday, September 4, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home.Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow.
