Clarice Darlene Tannehill, age 91, gracefully departed this life on March 21, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Born on August 8, 1932, in Los Angeles, California, she was the cherished daughter of Clarence Franklin Wiseman and Chelsea (Edwards) Wiseman. Clarice’s legacy is one of profound love and joy. As a devoted mother to seven children, she found her greatest fulfillment in family and friendships. Known for her infectious sense of humor, Clarice brought laughter and light wherever she went, endearing herself to all who crossed her path. An accomplished artist, Clarice's talent shone brightly, earning her the prestigious honor of winning first place at the state fair for her exceptional work. Her passion for creativity knew no bounds, and her artistic endeavors brought beauty and inspiration to those around her. With a fondness for country and western music, Clarice found immense joy in dancing and celebrating life's simple pleasures. She embraced community and camaraderie as a cherished member of the red hat club, where she cultivated lasting friendships and cherished memories. In her later years, Clarice's radiant spirit continued to shine, touching the hearts of everyone she encountered, including her extended family at the nursing home, who adored her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Tannehill, son Michael Allen Smith, daughter Sherry Lynn Smith, parents Clarence and Chelsea Wiseman, brothers Edwin Wiseman and Wallace Wiseman, and sister Marion Dies.
She is survived by her daughters Victoria Rogers of Yukon, Oklahoma, Shawn Dimick and her husband Steve of Witchita, Peggy Millea and her husband Mike Funkhouser of Washington, Sunny Eaton and her husband Gordon of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Cathy Eaton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members and friends who will cherish her memories.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 12:30 PM at the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, with Chaplain Terry officiating. Though she may have departed this earthly realm, Clarice's love, laughter, and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know and love her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. May she rest in eternal peace.
