Clifford Ervin Lawrence's Obituary
Clifford Ervin Lawrence was born on October 8, 1928 in Lakeview, TX, to James Beckham Lawrence and Mamie Belle Lawrence. He passed away Friday, March 14 at the Claremore Veteran’s Center, Claremore, OK. He was married to the former Betty Ruth Mott, who passed away almost two years ago to the day. Clifford Lawrence was a 40 year resident of Broken Arrow, OK, the oldest of four children. He served in the Navy during the Korea war aboard the U.S.S. Maddox. A few years later, he attended Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz, CA, graduating in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology. After graduation, he pastored several churches in the Assemblies of God denomination in California and Nevada, before moving his family to Oklahoma in 1974. Clifford was pre-deceased by his two brothers and a sister, Eldon Lawrence, Doug Lawrence, and Joyce Adkins. He is survived by his three children, Larry Clifford Lawrence of South Carolina, Susan Lawrence Gorman, and Melody Lawrence Hale, both of Broken Arrow, OK. He had eight grand-children and 3 great-grand children. Besides pastoring, Clifford Lawrence also worked in the area of paving and grading, both in Oklahoma and California. His greatest love was for his wife, children, grand-children and great-grand-children. Viewing will be Monday, March 17, 6:00-8:00 pm, and graveside service will be at 1:00 pm, at Floral Havens, Broken Arrow, OK. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Activity fund, Claremore Veterans Center, 3001 Blue Star Parkway, Claremore, OK, 74017, in honor of Clifford Lawrence.
