Clifton Mobley's Obituary
Clifton A. Mobley, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away on October 27,2008 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 86. Clifton was born on February 5, 1922 in Bastrop, Texas to Winnie Vera Smith and Willard Burnice Mobley. Clifton served his country proudly in the Navy during World War II as an Aviation Machinist Mate First Class. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 24 years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas until his retirement in 1971 as Director Of Regional Operations. Following retirement he moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma and was active in local politics, Kiwanis, and served as Chairman of the Cherokee County Excise Board. He later moved to Tulsa in 1988 to be closer to family and grandchildren and remained active in the East Tulsa-Broken Arrow Kiwanis Club and the Woodland Acres Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Marie Beckes Mobley. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Woodland Acres Baptist Church Music Fund. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 31, 2008 at Woodland Acres Baptist Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma with Dr. David Rhoades officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.Survived By: He is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Vicki, Dennis and Naomi, Dwain and Denise, and 5 grandchildren, Micah, Brianne, Deana, Sean, and Eric all of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
