Clyde E Jones' Obituary
Clyde Eugene Jones departed this life and entered eternal rest Friday, September 27, 2024 at 99 years of age leaving an incredible and profound legacy. Clyde was born February 6, 1925 to Ulva and Viola Cornett Jones in Springfield, Missouri. He married Nora Mae Watts on December 24, 1942 in Ozark, Missouri. He worked at Hastings (NE) Naval Ammunition Depot during WWII. He returned to Rogersville, Missouri, where he farmed and worked as a furniture finisher for Glenn White Furniture Factory in Springfield, MO. In July, 1956, he moved his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he worked at Watts and Green Glass Company until retirement. He enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals and was a promoter. He was a member of Eastwood Baptist Church since 1957. He was a handyman extraordinaire. He could fix anything! He enjoyed woodworking and was very creative. He could talk to anybody and greeted them with a warm smile, which always spoke volumes about his happiness to see you. Clyde took immense pleasure in family gatherings. His stories of accounts of his 99 years were captivating and unforgettable. He was predeceased by his parents, Ulva and Viola, Nora, his wife of 68 years, David Lee, son, James and Cecil Jones, brothers, May Harris and Marsella O’Connor, sisters and Leddi Peck, great granddaughter. He is survived by daughters, Peggy Pitezel, spouse Fred, Bonnie Carner, spouse Tommy, Anita Peck, son, Donald Jones, spouse Deborah, daughter-in-law Rebecca Jones, 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren, sisters, Ivyonn Galloway and Leetta McCroskey, brother-in-law, Garrel O’Connor, sister-in-law, Doris Jones, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024 from 4PM till 7PM at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 4th, 2024 at Floral Havens Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens at the Heritage Mausoleum.
