Collette Margaret Nichols' Obituary
Collette Margaret Stanley Nichols
January 10, 1967 – May 28, 2026
Collette Margaret Stanley Nichols was born on January 10, 1967, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At just one week old, she was rushed to Children’s Hospital with heart failure, where many additional birth defects were discovered. Over the next 15 years, she spent much of her childhood in and out of the hospital, undergoing numerous surgeries with remarkable strength and resilience.
In 1977, her family moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, where Collette attended Union High School. In 1981, the family relocated to Claremore, Oklahoma, where she became a Claremore Zebra. She was an active member of the band and proudly marched in the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena. After graduating, she attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Collette later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she began working with preschool children. Through her work, she became a foster mother and eventually adopted her daughter, Monica Rose Stanley. She was a devoted and loving mother.
In 2001, Collette and her father opened A1 Acceptance and Loan Company, where she managed the office for over 12 years. During this time, she met and married James Wolfe (now deceased). They were blessed with a daughter, Addison Rose Stanley, born July 10, 2010.
As her illness returned, Collette was forced to leave work and became a full-time mother to Monica and Addison. Over the years, she discovered a passion for writing poetry and created many pieces, always hoping to one day publish a book.
In Summer of 2024, Collette was diagnosed with cancer. Through it all, she remained devoted to her children and faced her illness with courage and strength until her passing on May 28, 2026.
Collette is survived by her children, Addison Rose Stanley and Monica Rose (Stanley) Moeder; her brother, Craig Stanley, and his children, Drew Stanley, Aubrey Stanley, Hannah Stanley, and Jordan Stanley, along with grandchild Kaleema; her sister, Cari Hanson, and her children, Nick Ragan, Daniel Hanso, Bethany Wilson, and Matt Wilson, along with grandchildren Clive and Logan. She is also survived by her parents, Tom and Mitzi Stanley; her uncle, John Stanley; her aunt, Mary Stanley; her aunt, Teresa Matheus; and many cousins
