Conrad Jason Carson's Obituary
Conrad Jason Carson Conrad J. Carson died April 20, 2011. He was born November 9, 1947, in New Orleans, La, where parents David and Belva Carson resided, while his father was in the Navy and attending Tulane Medical School. Conrad grew up in Miami, Ok, graduating from Miami High School in 1966. He graduated from OU in 1970, remaining a lifetime Sooner fan. While at O.U. he obtained a commercial pilot's license and was a flight instructor. He served in the U.S. Army in 1970 ' 1971, until injured and honorably discharged. Conrad then attended the Univ. of Tulsa, for accounting and became a Federal Agent for IRS. During 1973 through 1979, while serving IRS, he taught tax accounting at T.U. prior to and while attending law school at T.U. Upon obtaining his J.D. in 1982, Conrad entered the private practice of law and for many years enjoyed the challenges and the opportunity to assist people in his practice in conjunction with Glennella P. Doss, Esq. Conrad cherished many friends and was thankful for their surprise celebration of his life held on January 8, 2011. He was honored to share memories and touched by their care and support during his long fought battle with colon cancer. Conrad is survived by his daughter Katelyn J. Carson Smith, who is attending OSU and is the love of his live and only child. Also surviving, are his brother Stanley Carson, M.D. a practicing hear surgeon of Denver, CO, and wife, Bonita Synar Carson, M.D.; his nephew Bryan Carson, PhD and wife Heather; his sister, Tamara Carson Hambay, husband Greg, and son Graham of Disney, Ok; his niece, Carrie Carson Homer and husband, Brad of Miami, Ok; and niece Christie McDowell and her husband Chris of Miami, Ok. Conrad was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. David and Belva Carson of Miami, Ok and his brother, Brad Carson of Joplin, MO. Memorial Services will be held Friday, April 29, 2011, at 12:30 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, University of Oklahoma, or charity of choice.
