Michael Rhoda
COL Johnson was my "boss's boss" when I was a new USPFO warehouse foreman (& newly minted Warrant Officer). His imposing physical presence and often gruff bearing intimidated many people. But what I also learned of him was his pleasant & mentoring side. I took numerous trips to Ft. Carson with him, enjoying our conversations together. I believe he even enjoyed being challenged, as we verbally sparred a bit on some issues- which showed his grace in putting up with me !
My condolences to Conrad's family; I am thankful you "shared" him with those of us in the COARNG. His light now shines in a better place- we shall miss it here.
Sincerely,
Michael Rhoda
