Cora Lee Egwuonwu's Obituary
Cora Lee Egwuonwu, 73, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on August 10, 2024. Born on June 30, 1951, in Elko, Nevada, she was the beloved daughter of Clarence Mosley and Katherine Bell.
Cora was a woman of many passions and talents. She loved to spend her Sundays at IHOP, enjoying the company of friends and family. Her love for music was boundless; she had perfect pitch and delighted in harmonizing, especially to the Motown sounds of the 50s and 60s. A baptized Jehovah’s Witness, Cora found joy in her faith and community.
Her interests were as diverse as her talents. She was fascinated by Sci-Fi, UFOs, and aliens, and she never missed an opportunity to explore garage sales, thrift stores, and flea markets. Cora had a unique ability to connect with people, never meeting a stranger. Her intelligence shone through in all she did, from earning her Bachelor of Science degree at Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma, to her excellent cooking and baking, with her peach cobbler being a family favorite.
Cora is survived by her daughter, Alisha Frye, and her husband Henry; two sons, Henry Wilson and Chinedu Ezechukwu; her four grandchildren, Kyle Johnson, Khouriana Spencer and her husband Jhron, Adrian Wilson, and Darian Wilson; and her four great-grandchildren, Aiden Johnson, Jaron Spencer, Dallas Spencer, and Khadence Hampton. She also leaves behind her brother, Clarence Mosley, and many friends and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Khourtni Johnson.
