Corene Ceaser's Obituary
Corene entered this life on the fourth of July in 1940; she was the second oldest of nine children born to the late Chester Jones and Elzena Anderson. As the second in line, many of the more challenging household responsibilities were often entrusted to her by mother who held her accountable with full authority. Yet she persevered with grace and became a guiding example to her younger siblings.
She gave her life to Christ at a very young age and attended the former First Baptist Church of Bristow, Oklahoma, in the Lincoln Heights Addition. She was a devoted, dedicated, and distinguished member, known for her compassion and willingness to counsel and mentor younger members of the church. Later, as a resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, she attended Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church, where she was honored with the title Deaconess through marriage.
Corene attended Lincoln High School in Bristow, Oklahoma. During her high school years, she was actively engaged in a variety of social clubs, the choir club and the Glee club. Later in life, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she met and married Sigmond Ceaser on March 26, 1967. While in California, Corene began her educational journey with aspirations of becoming a Registered Nurse, while working for the Beverly Hills Unified School District.
She later returned to her home state of Oklahoma, where she earned her associate’s in child development. Leveraging this accomplishment, she dedicated over 20 years of service to ABC Child Care Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of countless children and families. In time, she retired and moved to Texas, where she was lovingly cared for by her devoted daughter and son-in-law.
When the Lord called her home, Corene was reunited with her parents, two brothers, and one sister. She leaves to cherish her memory: four sisters, Gwendolyn Jones, Betty Gill, Delores Mack, and Marilyn Gaines; one brother, Chester Jones, Jr.; three sons, Randy Jones (Sharon Alexander-Jones), Eric Ceaser, and Lenard Ceaser (Monica Roseboro-Ceaser); one daughter, Pamela Quinney (Melvin Quinney); nine grandchildren Randy Jones Jr., Brittany Ceaser-McDuff, Mariah Quinnie, Taylor-Brooke Quinnie, Bianca Ceaser, Jalen Quinnie, Devin Ceaser, Summer Ceaser, and Harper Ceaser; one aunt, Rosa Lee Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and dear friends.
