Corrine Blanchette's Obituary
Corrine Yvonne Blanchette (neé Bisson) was a Christian, a wife, a “Grammy,” a mother, a devoted sibling, daughter, and aunt, an indefatigable neighbor and friend, a lover of coffee and key lime pie. A farm girl who grew up with pigtails and a pony, she became a Valedictorian registered nursing graduate in a tidy uniform and, later, presided over an impeccable home. The pain of chronic illness limited parts of her life, but graced her with an intuitive awareness of suffering and a ready hand of kindness always extended to those in need. Her soul ascended to heaven from her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma on January 30 this year, but her kindness lives in those who felt its touch, and in her family and friends whom it continues to inspire. Born in Barre, Vermont on April 24, 1933, Corrine graduated from the Fanny Allen School of Nursing in 1954, and married her husband Paul on November 10, 1955. They made homes in Essex Junction and Montpelier before moving to Tulsa in 2003. Corrine is survived by her husband Paul Joseph Blanchette, daughters Collette Blanchette, Anne Mohamed, Paula Blanchette, Denise Blanchette and Katherine Blanchette, beloved granddaughter Terriann Mohamed, sons-in-law Marc LaBlanc, Tallat Mohamed, and Thomas Guthrie, brother Dr. Richard Bisson, and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Her life will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on June 27 at the Lighthouse Christian Church at 3 St. Paul Street, Montpelier Vermont, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends to take their mothers or grandmothers out for lunch or dinner.
