Curtis Daniel Carden's Obituary
Curtis Daniel Carden, beloved husband, father brother, brother-in-law and friend, born into this world Tuesday, July 30, 1929 in Monroe, Oklahoma to loving parents, Tony & Ella Carden; went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 28, 2016 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with his loving family by his side. Curtis has been a long time resident of Broken Arrow area for 38 years. Working as a maintenance turnaround planner, spend his entire career with Sunoco until his retirement. Curtis was a hard worker professionally and personally as he dedicated his free time to helping with his daughter’s band program at school. Holding the position as president of the board for the Jenks High School band for four years; he loved to raise money for the band through fund raisers, chaperoning for the band trips to Colorado, St. Louis. Curtis was known as an organizer and making sure everything was done correctly as he was known for his eye for detail, especially when it came to organizing the trips for the band and the band members. But what Curtis truly loved were the memories shared and created with his family and friends especially his daughter being involved with helping her and the band program flourish. He will be deeply missed by all those that had their lives touched by him. Curtis is preceded in death by his loving parents, Tony & Ella Carden; brother-in-laws, Buford Wester and John Wester; siblings, Ray Carden, Alvis Carden, Nadine Ray Wilson and Alta Doyle. Curtis is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-four years, Jeanette Carden; his loving daughter, Teresa Carden; his dear brothers & sisters-in-law, Louie C. Wester & wife Velta, Edna Tatum, Wanda Williams & husband Earl, Joe Wester & wife Judy, David Wester & wife Sandy, Laura Danley & husband Dwight, Imogene Wester and Wanda Wester and numerous other loving family members and friends. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. A funeral service will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at Floral Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow Oklahoma. Curtis will be laid to rest at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
