Curtis Gene English's Obituary
Curtis Gene English, 86 of Oak Point, Texas passed from this life on Tuesday, April 25th at the Dallas VA. He was born on May 13, 1936 in Bristow, Oklahoma to his parents, Eugene and Lula English.
Curtis was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1955; and then went to serve in the United States Air Force for 21 years. He married Margery and raised three daughters, Jeannell, Karen and Bonnie. During his time in the Air Force, he and his family lived in Texas, California, Colorado, Panama, New Mexico, Washington and Guam. After his time in the Air Force, he worked in Aerospace industries for LTV, Rockwell and Boeing. He retired in 2001 in Tulsa. Curtis had a wide range of interests and hobbies like; farming, ranching, playing cards and collecting classic cars.
Curtis is survived by two daughters, Karen Avington and Bonnie Otto (Keith), one step-son Michael Pimpton (Ella); one sister, Stella English; one brother, Freddie English, Sr. (Nelda); 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lula English; his wife, Margery English; his daughter Jeannell Sims; a grandson, Evan Morrison; two sisters, Minnie Locklin and Pearlie Randle; and five brothers, Larry Jones, LeRoy Jones, R. C. Jones, Haywood Jones and Billy English.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Floral Haven's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens.
