Cynthia Ann Berg's Obituary
Cynthia Ann Berg passed on Friday night, May 5th in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Cindy was surrounded by family and an undeniable peace, as she ended her journey here to begin her eternal destiny in Heaven. Cindy was born on February 23, 1960 in Clovis, NM. She was the daughter of Don and Lee Ann Kittinger, both originally from Owensboro, KY, but retired in Broken Arrow. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Southeastern University, in Lakeland, FL, in 1982. That same year, she married Brian Berg in Biloxi, MS. Brian and Cindy had three children, and being their mother was the joy of her life. Cindy gave them her undivided love and devotion, and always put them before herself. She spent her life as an educator, truly believing that teaching was a privilege, and also carried the immense responsibility of helping each child reach their unique potential. She pursued and received her Master’s Degree in Reading and Literacy and became a specialist in reading intervention. Her hard work paid off, and her final year of teaching culminated in national recognition – Cindy received an award from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, given to only six educators nationwide for exceptional work in assisting struggling students. In addition to her work in the classroom, Cindy pursued her passion for music by investing in her many piano students, as well as in music ministries in the churches in which she worshipped. Cindy was an unending source of encouragement and love to those around her, and she was always filled with hope towards the future. Most importantly, she loved Jesus and had a passion for worship and prayer. She awoke early, dedicating each morning to praying for others, including her family, her friends, her work family at McKinley Elementary, her nation, and the world. Cindy is survived by her husband, Brian Berg; her children, Rebekah Berg and Rex Berg; her mother, Lee Ann Kittinger; her brother, Greg Kittinger, and his wife, Sandy; her brother, Danny Kittinger, and his wife, Carrie; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Cindy is preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Don Kittinger, her brother Will Kittinger and her beloved son, Daniel Berg.In lieu of flowers donations in Cindy’s honor may be made to: Every Home For Christ www.EHC.orgVisitation will be Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5-7 P.M. at Floral Haven Funeral Home Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Believers Church Tulsa
