Cynthia Wooley Lozier, M.D's Obituary
In loving memory of Cynthia W. Lozier, M.D., who after a courageous 7 year battle with breast cancer passed on October 17, 2010. “Doc Cindy”, as she often referred to herself, was a beloved daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, John “Mickey” Smith, her three children, Darren Phillip Blocker, Nancy Elizabeth Mayberry, and Joshua Mark Lozier. She was most proud of her three grandchildren, Sydney Alys Blocker, Darren Phillip Blocker, Jr. and Brittany Angelina Mayberry. She is also survived by her parents, Samuel and Patsy Wooley, and a host of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cindy was a talented and brilliant woman as well as, an accomplished E.R. Physician and Surgeon. She received her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and her Medical Doctorate in General Surgery from the University of South Alabama and did a second residency in Internal Medicine at University of Tennessee(Memphis). She lived a full life, complete with laughter and sorrow. We will miss her physical presence in our lives, let’s not just grieve, but also celebrate her life as it was fully lived. As we talk and visit, let’s share our memories, as her spirit continues to live in all of us.
