Cynthia Joy Parker's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Cynthia Joy Parker
Cynthia Joy (Kallenberger) Parker, known for her elegance and dedication to family, passed away on February 23, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 66. Born on January 20, 1958, in Borger, Texas, Cynthia touched the lives of many with her kindness and creativity.
Cynthia's journey began in Borger, Texas, where she spent her childhood before moving to Orange, Texas, and later settling in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She graduated from Bartlesville High School and went on to pursue her passion for home economics education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree on July 25, 1980 from Oklahoma State University. Her thirst for knowledge led her to attain a Master of Science in Clothing, Textiles & Merchandising on December 19, 1986 from OSU.
On July 1, 1989, Cynthia married the love of her life, Randy Parker, in Bartlesville, OK. Their love story began in 1988 when they met at a singles group at Highland Park Baptist Church in Bartlesville, and from that moment on, Cynthia's caring nature and culinary skills won Randy's heart time and time again.
Throughout their life together, Cynthia and Randy shared many adventures, residing in Rockford, Illinois; Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Branson, Missouri; Jenks, Oklahoma; and Bixby, Oklahoma. Cynthia's reserved demeanor gave her the ability to create warmth and beauty within her home. She was an introverted soul who found solace in the comfort of her own space but who also knew how to light up a room with her grace and charm when the occasion called for it. Cynthia and Randy owned and operated a Bed and Breakfast Inn in Branson, MO for several years and enjoyed interacting with guests and creating new friends.
Cynthia's talents extended beyond her homemaking skills; she was a gifted craftswoman, excelling in sewing, needlework, and puzzles. Together with Randy, she showcased her creations at craft shows, sharing her love for creativity with others. Her stepson Scott marveled at how quickly Cynthia could sew a button back on or repair a rip in clothing. Cynthia's elegance shone through in every aspect of her life, from the china plates and fine silverware she cherished to the napkin folding classes she eagerly taught to friends and family. She loved nothing more than to have family gatherings and spend time with her loved ones. She will be forever missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Robert (Bob) and Corinne Kallenberger, and her sister Coila Kallenberger Cox. She is survived by her husband and the love of her life, Randy Parker, her son Kevin Parker, stepson Scott Parker, and his wife Matrina of Mustang, OK, her sister Cheryl Kallenberger of Kilgore, TX, and her brother-in-law Kim Cox and nephews Rusty Cox and Randy Cox, along with their families, and niece Cori Kallenberger and her husband Carson of Liberty City.
