Cynthia Huff Watts' Obituary
Cynthia Huff Watts Born 4 Sep 1946 in West point Georgia, grew up across the Chattahoochee in Lanett Alabama. Her family lived on First Ave Lanett, facing the mill. She attended elementary and high school in Lanett. Cindy belonged to Lanett Congregational Christian Church along with her parents and many of her aunts and uncles, and cousins by the score. She treasured her church family. As a young woman she met and married Fred Watts, a daughter Teena was born to them and when she was five they built a home in Langdale (Valley) Alabama on “Red Dirt Hill”. Fred passed away in 1990. In her early adulthood she was a nurse’s aide, then a book keeper at Roses Department Store. For the majority of her adult life until retirement she worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for West Point Pepperell Mill Store (later J P Stevens). She attended Southern Union. After Fred passed she was heartbroken, Andrew came into her life and they found comfort in their loss sharing stories of Fred and each other’s company. Their friendship turned to affection and then to love, they were married in the fall of 1990 and he brought her such happiness and a new zest for life. When Andy retired they made the bittersweet decision to pull up roots and moved themselves and their 3 fur babies to Tulsa in 2008 to be closer to Teena and family. She was here for Birthday’s, Graduations, Easters, and best of all Christmases. She LOVED Christmas as a child does and she was generous to a fault. In 2017 they bought a lovely new home, with the fireplace she always wanted. She was here for two of her great grand children’s birth and meet her newest great granddaughter in May. She loved video chatting with all of her family in between visits and especially looked forward to her visits from Farah. We are so grateful for those 10 years she was close to us. Her Joys in life were her Faith, her Family, her fur babies Spanky, Rascle, Bengi, Sassy, & Charlie. She took such delight in family reunions, and being a Girl Scout leader, Cindy loved going camping, and Disney World, Adored Christmas, and driving around looking at Christmas lights while singing carols, and especially loved SNOW. Cindy loved Sunday afternoon drives and singing old songs and hymns in the car. She loved sparkle and bling. Her favorite places were Gatlinburg Tenn and the Smokey Mountains, Calloway Gardens, and Roosevelt State Park, Dowdell’s Knob, in Pine Mtn Ga, and Stone Mountain Ga. Recent poor health made it more difficult for her to keep in touch with family and friends but she tried through facebook until even that became a struggle, but she enjoyed reminiscing about the old days and looking at the old photos of which she added onto the Dollar Facebook Group. She cherished her many cousins and spoke about them daily and loved reading of their lives via social media. She had a smile and a kind word for everyone and bore her illness with courage and grace. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Watts, her parents Wilbur Sims Huff & Mattie Dollar Huff, her brothers Heyburn (Ann & Gaynell) and Stanford Huff and a stillborn sister Elizabeth Huff. She is survived by her husband Andrew Watts, her sister in-love Judy Huff, her Daughter Teena Nunn (David), Grandchildren Joseph Nunn (Diana), Kate Sequeira (Keith), Matthew Nunn (Heather), Susanna Nunn (Tony Cummings), Her nephew/son in love Jay Martin (Katie) and their children Emma & Addie, four great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who love her and miss her dearly. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA @ ASPCA.orgCelebration of Life Service will be 12:30 pm, Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel
