Cyrus "Russ" Nunn's Obituary
Cyrus “Russ” Hope Nunn, passed away on November 12, 2021 at Clare House in Tulsa, OK. Russ was born in Mannsville, Oklahoma on December 27, 1936 to Dr. William T Nunn and Annie Laurie Nunn.
Russ, called Hope by his family, attended the same school from 1st through 12th grades in Kingston, Oklahoma. He played the E flat sousaphone in the band and Basketball for six years. He joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard Heavy Weapons Infantry Company in Tishomingo his Senior year in September 1954. After graduation in 1955, he worked a summer at Dallas Airmotive. Earning enough money to attend one semester at Murray State College in Tishomingo where he was part of the Air Force ROTC. He joined the US Navy in February 1956. Discharged in February 1960, he found employment with RCA as a computer service representative and began training in Cherry Hill, NJ. While in New Jersey Russ met Louise Broom and they were married May 27, 1960. Russ remained in the computer service industry with the same unit through mergers and buyouts until his retirement in February 1996. Russ and Louise enjoyed their retirement in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, traveling around the world, playing golf and games with friends and dancing with the Swing club.
He is survived by his daughters, Laurie Campbell (Charlie) and Shannon Nunn: Grandchildren: Heather De Leon (Hector), Grant Hilti (Allie), Brandon Barry, Frances Barry Brockman, Russell Nunn and Andrew Nunn, numerous great grandchildren, his sister Bonnie Stanford and brother John Nunn (Joyce), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Russ was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. W. T. and Annie Nunn, his wife, Louise, and children, William Nunn, Russell Nunn, Cindy Wright, and Cathy Barry.
