Gene was a tremendous man, a devoted Son of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and a dear friend. I and the organization miss him already. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sally and the family, hoping that this difficult time will pass quickly, leaving only fond reminiscences of Gene.

Vincent and I just learned of Gene”s passing today, and were truly saddened. I have known him since he attended our wedding in 1979, and Vincent has since before 1970. Gene will be missed.
