Daniel F. Mills, Sr.'s Obituary
Daniel Forrest 'Danny' Mills, Sr. Daniel Forrest Mills, Sr., entered into eternal rest on May 26th, 2011 at his home around 2:00 am. Daniel 'Danny' was born March 14th, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan and grew up in Jupiter, Florida. Danny was a tremendous high school athlete. He lettered in four sports and established a new South Atlantic Conference record of 10 flat in the 100 yard dash. Following high school, Danny went to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College on a football scholarship where he played running back for the Golden Norsemen. On May 31st, 1966 Danny married Linda Sue McGrath. After completing his college education, Danny began his teaching and coaching career. He was passionate about sports and impacting the lives of young men and women. However, Danny never allowed his career to take precedence over his faith and family. He loved to spend time with his family going fishing, skin diving, hunting, camping and boating. He also made great sacrifices for his family, even getting out of coaching and going to work for McDonald's Corporation where he became a field consultant and store owner. For the last ten years, Danny returned to his first love of coaching and teaching. He sponsored the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at South Intermediate High School. His walk with God grew very strong as he sought significance over success. He poured his life into his relationship with his wife, children, and grandkids. He is survived by his wife Linda Sue Mills of Broken Arrow; his sister Rebecca Harrison of Orlando, Florida. Danny raised three boys, David McGrath of Coweta, Ok (wife Chrissie); Danny Mills, Jr. of Muskogee, Ok (wife Letitia); and Ronnie Mills of Broken Arrow, Ok (wife Debbie); eight grandchildren- Joshua, Joseph, and Danielle McGrath of Coweta; Blake, Luke, Kaylie Dean Mills of Muskogee; Ashley and Zack Mills of Broken Arrow, Ok
