Danny Lee Box Sr.'s Obituary
Danny Lee Box, Sr., of Broken Arrow, passed from this life on January 20, 2016. Danny was born on July 28, 1951 in Yuba City, California to John and Eva Box. He was the first child of 3 children. He attended Tulelake High School, Cameron University, and Southern Nazarene University where he earned a Bachelors of Sociology and a Masters of Science in Management. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1969-1975 and the U.S.Army from 1976-1992 and attained the rank of E6 and received the following medals: Marine Good Conduct Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal with Bronze Star, Army Achievement Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. He retired in 1992 after serving 20 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working and spending time with his family. He met and married Sarah Chong March 10, 1988 in Seoul, South Korea. After graduation he began a career as a Counselor at Tulsa Boys Home and later became the Facilities Manager. Danny was a member of Rhema Bible Church. He was a Godly, family-oriented man who was strong in his faith. His family relates his faith in the Bible as big and strong as his stature. He was also involved in the United Way, Tulsa Boys Home, and Rhema Bible Church. He was a man of integrity, honor, faith, strength and a leader. Among his hobbies were golfing, fishing, and traveling. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Box of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Christina Box of Broken Arrow, OK; sons, Danny L. and Shayla Box, Jr of Chickasha, OK,Corey and Melissa Box Sr. of Tulsa, OK and Jeremy Box of Raytown, MO; 7 grandchildren, Danny Box III, Aaron Box, Kyra Box, Alyssa Box, Rose Box, Michael Box and Mya Box; brother, Johnny Box of Sapulpa, OK and sister, Vicki Harris of Reserve, New Mexico.
