Geneva Darce Oldfield's Obituary
Geneva Oldfield was born Geneva Darce Brandon in Hendersonville, TN on February 9, 1927. Her parents were William Houston Brandon and Erin Annie Stacy. She was the last of 9 siblings to pass on May 7, 2018.She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Ann Sommers of Broken Arrow, OK and Deborah Ruth Rosene of Dallas, TX. Geneva was also blessed with 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren including, Ismeen Khalaf, Tiffany Sommers, Melinda Duval, Amanda Fox and great grand-children Coryn and Grant Duval.Geneva enjoyed sharing her love with others through many positions in the food industry in the Chicago area. She managed the food production at Imperial Catering of Elgin, Illinois from 1979 to 1987 and worked as a cook at Elgin Academy and Swensen’s Bakery in South Elgin, Illinois.She loved to dabble is various types of crafts including sewing, gardening and painting. The yards of her homes always included a large garden with roses, zinnias, geraniums and many types of vegetables, especially tomatoes. Her last years were spent at Senior Suites, in Broken Arrow OK where she represented them as 1st Runner up in Miss Senior Oklahoma in 2013. She loved to welcome new residents, play bingo and bring a smile to everyone’s day.Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Senior Suites Health Care in Broken Arrow.Memorial Donations may be made to American Heart Association @ http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/
