Darlene worked for Tulsa Public Schools Transportation division for 17 years and Owasso Public Schools Transportation division for the past 10 years. She also owned and operated her own daycare business between the two positions. Darlene worked hard to care for the
needs of her family. She was a go-getter and wasn’t afraid of hard work. She loved her job and had a sincere love for people.
Darlene studied the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses and loved what she learned. She dedicated her life to Jehovah through water baptism on November 13, 1988 and served Jehovah faithfully for over 36 years. Darlene enjoyed sharing her faith with those she loved and with those she met. Her love for people motivated her to serve as an auxiliary pioneer several times throughout her life and for the last year as a regular pioneer. It was important to Darlene that others knew about the hope the Bible promises for the future.
Anyone that knew Darlene knows how contagious and distinct her laughter was. You could hear her laugh and know that was her from a mile away. Darlene was funny and she could tell a good story. She was so animated and had a way of capturing the rooms attention, and before long everyone would be in tears from laughter. Darlene was one of the most genuine and realest people you will meet. She was always smiling, happy and positive. She would give you the shirt off her back, but also wouldn’t hesitate to offer a few strong words of wisdom when needed, especially from God’s word. Darlene also enjoyed cooking and man could she burn. She catered many events, weddings and gatherings over the years and was a favorite by many. Darlene also loved to play games, some of her favorites being Bid Whist, Dominoes, Rummikub, Spades and Scrabble. One of her proudest moments was becoming a grandmother to Ernest's three girls. Darlene’s legacy will forever be remembered by her loved ones, who were touched by her radiant spirit and zest for life. She leaves behind a profound impact on those who had the privilege of knowing her, reminding us to live by her example, seek accurate knowledge from God’s word, and cherish the love and beauty that surrounds us. We look forward to the day when Jehovah will awaken Darlene in a paradise earth. (Job. 14: 13-15; Acts 24: 15)
