In Loving Memory of Darrell Van Ray
Darrell Van Ray of Tulsa passed from this life on January 7th, 2024, at the age of 81 years At Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Darrell was born in Frankfort Indiana to Geneva "Jiggs" Canter Ray and Alvin Jesse "AJ" Ray on August 24, 1942. He was the third born of 4 children.
Darrell spent most of his life working for different IT companies, that were affiliated with horses, which lead him to working in many states. Darrell enjoyed traveling, fishing, going to the beach, listening to basketball and baseball games. Darrell touched the lives of many with his kindness and warmth. He will be forever missed.
Darrell is preceded in death by his father AJ Ray, mother Jiggs Ray, Brother Vonnie Ray, sister Oakie Pearson and brother Bert Ray.
He leaves behind his wife Nga Ray of the home, his children Lynn Caswell and husband David of Atlanta Georgia, Ricki Miller of Richmond Kentucky, Alex Boyd of British Columbia, and Wilson Ray of the home. Darrell is also survived by his 3 grandchildren: Tara Meade Gilliam and husband Travis of Kentucky, Christopher Miller of Tennessee, and David Caswell of Georgia; his 2 great grandchildren: Aiden Gilliam and Aria Gilliam as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends that will miss him dearly.
A funeral service to honor the life of Darrell will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel, located at 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, with Pastor James Lacey officiating.
A public visitation will be held immediately after conclusion of the chapel service from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, at Floral Haven Funeral Home in one of the visitation suites: 6500 S 129th E Ave, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
Anyone wishing to send flowers may do so by ordering through our website or by calling Floral Designs by Floral Haven at (918) 459-1525. Any other florists may deliver flowers directly to Floral Haven Funeral Home by 9:00 AM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in order for them to be set out and properly displayed for Darrell's services.
