David Glen Adams' Obituary
David Glen Adams passed from this life on April 15, 2026 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 78. He entered the world and began his legacy on November 13, 1947 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to his parents Louis and Corine Adams.
From 1967 to 1973 Dave served his country as a Vietnam Army Veteran. Friends and family knew his intelligence, hard-working nature, loyalty, kindness, and steady support long before medals or titles ever tried to capture them. Dave carried intelligence, kindness, and patience wherever he went. He was a man who could fix anything and loved nothing more than sharing that gift, especially with his children and grandchildren. His hands built many things in this life including homes, gardens, and memories, always with calm patience and a quick, logical mind. Teaching ran deep in Dave’s heart. He showed Terry the strategy behind dominoes so well that she soon won every game, a result that brought him genuine laughs and happiness.
Dave had a love of country dancing. He was in the Oklahoma Professional Country Dance Association where he met his wife Terry. Together they spent several years teaching and judging dance competitions. He loved dancing and taught that love of dancing to his children and grandchildren. Even teasing one of his grandsons recently that the reason he doesn’t have a girlfriend is because he doesn’t know how to dance.
One of Dave’s projects was “Camp Grandpa,” a special place he created to spend quality time with the grandkids, showing them how much he loved them and pass on his love of carpentry and craftsmanship. He used the time to teach them how to safely use tools and they built special projects together. During Camp Grandpa, and most other times as well Dave was always ready to make sure his family was well taken care of, entertained, and he was always ready with an old Indian trick. He was “the epitome of awesome”.
Daves loved ones will carry his lessons—measure twice, love endlessly, never mind getting beat at dominos by someone you taught, and never stop dancing. Farewell, Dave; your handiwork, and our love for you, remain.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Corine Adams; brothers Clifford Adams and Raymond Adams; and many nieces and nephews.
Left to cherish Daves memory is his wife Terry Adams; children Glenna Harris, Terrie Jean “TJ” Bloyed and her husband Chris, Tammy Hamrick, Christopher Hamrick and his fiancé Amanda Stos; Shelley Brandon and her husband Randy, and Johnny Vannest; grandchildren Hayden Hamrick, Paxton Hamrick, Haleigh Harris, Brittan Harris, Brianna Harris, Jadyn Weaver, Tyler Bloyed, and Easton Stos; siblings Larry Adams and his wife Brenda, Janice Tunnell and her husband Robert, and Daniel Adams and his wife Donna; along with other family members and friends who will forever cherish their memory with Dave.
A celebration of Daves life will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 12:30pm at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with Brandon McCombs officiating.
