David Michael Armour's Obituary
David Michael Armour, a true Southern gentleman and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at the age of 76, in his home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with his beloved wife by his side.
Born on April 12, 1949, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Michael was the son of Frank and Janie Armour. From an early age, Michael carried himself with kindness, humility, and a steady sense of humor that would become his trademark throughout life.
Michael was a proud graduate of East Carolina University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in gas plant accounting. His career took him from Houston to Muskogee and ultimately to Tulsa, where he spent many years working for Carrera Gas before retiring in 2012. No matter where work took him, Michael's heart was always with his family.
On May 25, 2002, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Michael married the love of his life, Jan Armour. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, laughter, and family. Michael was a devoted Christian who lived his faith daily serving as a Stephen Minister, leading Walk to Emmaus, participating in Dale Carnegie leadership, and speaking at divorce adjustment and widowers’ workshops. He also found great joy in leading small groups and Sunday school, always eager to encourage and uplift others.
Michael loved the simple joys of life: reading, traveling, ice cream (especially knowing where to find it), and time spent at the lake or the beach. He was a loyal fan of the ECU Pirates and OSU cowboys and never missed a chance to support his grandchildren at their activities. He was always joking, always smiling, and always ready with a quick laugh.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janie Armour. As well as his sister, Sandra Joyner, and his brother, Richard Crouch.
Michael is survived by his wife, Jan Armour of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his stepchildren Chris Rosencutter (Kelly), Craig Rosencutter (Kim), Clay Rosencutter (Sarah), Mandi Anderson and Amber Cleary. His grandchildren Megan Hill (CJ), Cameron Rosencutter, Aubrey Bauer (Korbin), Mackenzie Hostler (Connor), Allie Rosencutter, Emma Rosencutter, Abbi Rosencutter, Gracyn Rosencutter, and Dalton Anderson; and his great-grandchildren Breck Bauer, Bridger Bauer, and baby Hostler on the way. Niece Cindy Taylor (Michael) and Nephew Tony Joyner and many other great nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Michaels life will be held on February 10th at 10:00 a.m. at First Methodist Church of Broken Arrow 112 East College Street in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, led by Sei-Yoon Park and Gary Cole. In accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be spread along the North Carolina coast a place that always felt like home.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Miller Hospice, as well as to friends and loved ones, for their care, support, and prayers throughout Michael's illness.
Michael often said, “If I would’ve never met my beautiful wife, I would’ve never gotten my beautiful family.” His life was a testament to that truth. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, laughter, and love a life well lived and a man who will be deeply missed.
