David Roy Benton's Obituary
David Roy Benton, a resident of Catoosa, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the age of 79. He was born July 29, 1938 to Alvin William Ira Benton and Viola (Whyte) Benton in Elyria, Ohio. He served in the United States Army and retired from Rockwell International in 1997. He enjoyed hunting, boating, camping and his time at the lake with family and friends. He loved to travel and he and Hattie visited all 50 states and Canada. He was a member of the Metropolitan Car Club, Boy Scouts of America and Rogers County Emergency Response Team. David enjoyed many family reunions and get togethers with friends and will missed by all that knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Viola Benton; grandson, David Jacob “DJ” Benton; great granddaughter, Triniti Rain Sisco and two brothers, Richard A. and Robert F. Benton.Survivors include his loving wife, Hattie Mae Broyhill Benton of the home; son, Denus Benton and wife, Shellie of Catoosa; son, Dicus Benton and wife, Shelly of Catoosa; sister, Gloria McGirr and husband, Don of Texas; brother, William C. Benton and wife, Joy of Ohio; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many other cousins, nieces, nephews and host of friends. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 25, 2017 at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brad Taylor officiating.
