Elena, David was certainly taken with the photos you would share with him of your little girl and talked about getting well enough to get out and see you all. David, came to visit Grand Uncle and Aunt Schyler and Irene (Glessner) Walker when he was in the military service and stationed in San Diego in the early 70's. We got to spend a couple of Holidays with him at Don and Geri Walker's and Bill and Betty Walker's. Later when he worked in Las Vegas we got to see him more. He joined us for a birthday/ family reunion for Don Walker around 2007 at Phil and Debbie (Walker) Strong.Through the years we have been fortunate to have family from Oklahoma come and visit us out here in CA. It probably started with Jack Heath when he was stationed on the West Coast, he came and visited Irene and Schyler during WWII. He teased Skeets that he took his place for him at Christmas. Jack set the standard and fortunately David followed the good example that was set. In the early 80's we visited Okla. and got to see Joan. We are definitely overdue for a visit to family and wish very much that we were going to be with you all at this time as you gather to remember David. Our Love and thoughts will be with you especially tomorrow as the family gathers. We love and will miss David very much. Please hug Jack and Angie for us. Dave and I have been friends for about 10 plus.years now, and every time he visited KC he always made special time for us to play slots and eat a beautiful meal at the casino:) When i visited Las Vegas, he let me stay at his place, and again treated me like royalty. He was there for my entire journey from being single, to getting engaged, then married, and finally becoming a Mother. My husband and I have a precious, beautiful 2 year old daughter, who ADORED "uncle Dave", and i will have to explain why he can no longer come to KC to meet us for lunch, or play legos with her….Someday. Dave was a wonderful, generous, and loving, kind, compassionate friend, and I am blessed that he was a part of our lives. He will be greatly missed. Elena Manassero.
