David A. Carroll's Obituary
David Arthur Carroll of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 29, 2025.
David was born on June 3, 1943, in Oklahoma City to Arthur and Edna Carroll. He graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1961 and went on to build a devoted career in civil service, working on jet engines, investigating plane crashes around the country, and supporting Clark Air Force Base in Balibago, Philippines. He retired after 38 years with Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City and 6 years at CACI in Washington D.C. In recognition of his dedication, he received the Award for Outstanding Civilian Service to the Department of the Air Force. Over the years, he made homes in Oklahoma City, Shawnee, Broken Arrow, Tulsa, and Owasso.
On December 28, 1961, David married the love of his life, Linda (Yount) Carroll, in Oklahoma City. Guided by a steadfast faith, he served as a deacon at First Free Will Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee, First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, and he was a frequent supporter of Arms Around BA.
David found joy in playing golf, gardening, fishing, cheering on Oklahoma sports, playing dominoes, and coaching. He was quick with encouragement, faithful in friendship, and happiest when surrounded by family.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edna Carroll; his sister, Nancy Kinsey; and his grandchild, Eddie Bulstrode.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Carroll; his brother, Donald Carroll; his children, Cindy Andress (and her husband, Vance) Mike Carroll (and his wife, Maria); his grandchildren, Tambra Bulstrode, Regan Andress Acri (and her husband, Tyler), Tim Andress (and his wife, Abbey), Michael Malwick, and Rachel Roberts (and her husband, Sam); and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Floral Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, with Darrin McKnight officiating. Pallbearers will be Aaron Ramsey, Bud Evans, Coy Day, Tyler Acri, Tim Andress, and Michael Malwick. A graveside vigil will follow the service on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Interment will be at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A reception will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
David will be remembered for his faith, his quiet generosity, and the love he poured into his family and community.
