David Allan Cooper's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Allan Cooper, a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. David’s journey in this world began on September 7, 1960, and though his time with us has come to an end, his impact on those around him will forever remain.
David’s life was a testament to the simple pleasures that brough him joy. A passionate sports enthusiast, he found great excitement in cheering for his favorite teams, especially football, and sharing the camaraderie that sports bring. He enjoyed the outdoors and in particular fishing with his best friend, Greg Landrith. His moments spent with a fishing rod in hand were moments of reflection, where the worries of the world seemed to fade away. He also had a tremendous love for animals which was evident in the warmth and care he shared for his cats and dogs.
Being with his family was always important to David. He seldom missed an opportunity to attend family events, particularly during the holidays. Great joy was found in the company of his brothers, Harley Cooper Jr. and Calvin Cooper, sister in-law, Tina Cooper, and his nieces and nephews, Heather Ayers, Brian Cooper and Scott Cooper, as well as their spouses and children. He would be one of the first to arrive and last to leave, and never turned down the opportunity to take home delicious leftovers.
David loved his mother, Teru Shimada Hollingsworth, very dearly and embraced the responsibility of taking care of her. His devotion to her was a testament to his loving and selfless nature. His nurturing spirit extended to his family and friends where he was always ready to jump in and lend a helping hand.
As David embarks on his next journey with our Lord, he is reunited with his father, Harley Cooper, who has gone before him. Together they will find eternal peace, free from pain and suffering.
David Allan Cooper leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, excitement, and cherished memories. While we mourn his departure, let us also celebrate the vibrancy with which he lived, the connections he forged, and the lessons he taught us about living life fully and with an open heart.
David is survived by his mother Teru Shimada Hollingsworth; his siblings Harley Cooper Jr and wife Tina, and Calvin Cooper; his nieces and nephews Heather Ayers and husband Kyle Ayers, Brian Cooper and wife Samantha, and Scott Cooper and wife Sarah; along with a host of other family and friends that will forever miss him.
David is reunited with his father Harley Cooper.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Friday September 1st at 10 AM at Floral Haven Funeral Home.
